He'd been freshly promoted to the rank of captain when it all began.

The battalion of the royal army he was assigned to committed acts of barbarity on civilians. Korylis, who was judged responsible for these actions, paid dearly: he was cashiered, removed from his position and stripped of the lands he'd conquered.

The war was ending and diplomacy was prevailing; everything that was common occurrence not long ago such as rapes, robberies, and various other barbaric acts were becoming intolerable.

Korylis ended up in the street, burning with rage and seeking a revenge that would soon overwhelm him.

Gifted with good business skills, he soon created a secret society specializing in robbery, kidnapping, murder, and various other profitable acts.

He figured that every rich person needs servants without conscience... Korylis was a good warlord, he knew how to command the respect of his men, who were filth, the worst examples of humankind. Among them were an old gladiator, a savage armed with axes, a man who had mastered Eastern combat techniques, and many others... each more disreputable than the next.

Korylis, who still made people call him Captain, could satisfy his ever-growing thirst for power.
